In keeping with our holistic view of the world, The Lia Fund’s Holistic Health & Healing grants targeted programs, organizations, and activities that seek to shift the way we approach health, healing, and well-being.

With a belief in community-based solutions, we were excited to fund creative, innovative, replicable models that might expand community resources and provide direct services to underserved people. We looked for projects with far-reaching impact or the potential for universal application. This included providing tools, awareness, and information, as well as services, to those who may lack access to a holistic approach.

Because we acknowledge that well-being is based on the thriving of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—we included nutrition, mental and spiritual health, somatic practices, healing arts, and alternative modalities in our scope. Funded projects included such diverse directions as teaching preschoolers about nutrition through growing and eating fresh vegetables, and supporting a clinic providing complementary treatment to low-income cancer patients.
